Back in 2001 our goal was to improve all the process of retrieving information (indexing, matching, ranking) using features of the Portuguese language and Natural Language Processing techniques and resources .

This web page presents the project after we have restricted our research for the results presentation, in order to improve web search precision in Portuguese.
During the conclusion part of this project, we are still working with texts classification for results presentation. We have investigated the hypothesis that classification of Web pages according to the general user intentions is feasible and useful. We have also run experiments with real user training data to explore the same set of features to train classifiers that helps users discriminate among their specific needs.
